Ecumenical Mass
Immanuel has always looked beyond denomination to discover Christ among others. The ecumenical excitement of our place features, especially, a weekly Ecumenical Mass celebrated with Spiritus Christi Church each Tuesday at 12:10 PM. It nourishes our souls.
Bible Study & Reflection
Sundays after coffee hour, we dig into a short passage of the Bible and let it open up our own lives. Listening both to the Bible and to one another, the Spirit of God helps us to grow in the context of love.
Music
Immanuel has a strong tradition of music. We add to worship with a variety of musical styles, from traditional organ, to gospel, as well as praise and worship hymns.
We rely on the talents of anyone who is called to bring musical gifts. Rhonda Wright, our musical director, has a Masters in Piano performance from the Eastman School of Music, but her love is the organ and choral conducting.
Choir rehearses before worship two or three times a month from September - June. No training or expertise is needed.
Friday Jazz at Immanuel features professional artists for a refreshing night with new friends.Other events, including an annual Advent Service of Music and live music during A Taste of Park Avenue, utilize the remarkable acoustics of the sanctuary.
Centering Prayer
Each Wednesday we gather at 7:25 AM in the parlor to spend time together in silent, centering prayer. It has become an essential help for many of us. You are welcome.
