Are you seeking a beautiful, charming, and cozy place to hold your upcoming wedding? Immanuel may be the place for you. We are blessed to have inherited this architectural gem located in one of Rochester’s favorite neighborhoods. It sits at the corner of Park Avenue and Brunswick Street, along a pedestrian thoroughfare.

Our Space
Immanuel Baptist Church was designed by renowned architect J. Foster Warner in 1926, and is one of our city’s finest national landmarks. The charm of the church begins with exquisite historic detail and endures with community efforts to preserve it through the ages. More about our building and history.

What’s Included
Our wedding facilitator will ensure a perfect day for you. She will help organize the wedding rehearsal, support the bridal party in a special dressing area, prepare the sanctuary, and guide the bridal party procession. She is available prior to the wedding date to help with any questions and provide guidelines for planning the ceremony.

Unlike other venues we have only one wedding per day. Weddings are scheduled for 3 to 3.5 hours; 1 – 1.5 hours prior to the ceremony for dressing and preparing, one hour for the ceremony and one hour for photographs in the Church following the ceremony.

Wedding rehearsals are scheduled the afternoon/evening prior to the wedding for two hours; 30 minutes before the start for gathering and greeting, one hour for the rehearsal and 30 minutes at the end for decorating. This is a time for practicing the steps of the ceremony and it is expected that the bridal couple be prepared ahead of time for this. The Wedding facilitator is available prior to the wedding date to assist in determining the processional order, standing order and recessional order. This is also a time for the pastor and bridal couple to practice the actual steps of the ceremony. Again, this should be determined prior to the rehearsal.

Our music director is available (at an additional cost) to provide music for your ceremony and must be used if organ music is desired. If our music director is desired, you will be given contact information and the pricing will be determined by the complexity of your music selections. There is an additional charge for organ usage during the above mentioned winter months, due to the additional heat needed to bring the organ into tune.

If you prefer, you may use any of a number of different types of music, from other performers (i.e.: violin, harp, piano) of your choice, or we can hook up an iPhone or laptop to our sound system.

Immanuel’s minister is usually available to officiate at your wedding. The minister also meets with the bridal couple to help prepare you for your married life. In addition we can suggest other pastors, if needed, or you may have a pastor of your choice. The cost will be discussed at the first meeting.

Parking is generally abundant and available. We reserve the street in front of the church for the wedding party. There is parking for at least 20 vehicles in the rear parking lot and for 20 on the grass on the Brunswick side of the church. Our parking monitor will be on hand to direct parking. Street parking is also available.

The current cost is $950 plus an additional $100 for winter weddings (those between the dates of Nov 1 and April 15).

$400 is due at the time of booking to reserve the date. Final payment is due no less than four weeks prior to the wedding date.

We are a small Church with many different groups using our space. Wedding dates are usually available if booking is made more than nine months in advance. If booking a date less than nine months away, we will do everything possible to accommodate your request. Your dates will be verified prior to scheduling your tour.

Please contact the Church Office at the listed number. Our Wedding representative will contact you to set up tour of the building and explain the process. At this time you will be given a copy of the complete Wedding Policy.

Immanuel is an open Church and we accept wedding inquires from couples of all walks of faith, cultures and orientations.
